Starting a Chapter

We are pleased that you are thinking about launching a new ESW chapter. With over 1000 engineers who are committed to global sustainability, ESW’s growing network is largely due to the dedicated efforts of our chapter organizers. Building an ESW chapter will benefit you and your community, and will engage your peers in a powerful global initiative to build a better world.

Process for Chapter Registration

The Chapter Resource Center (CRC) provides materials to support the development and management of chapters. If you are interested in starting a chapter in your community, please contact your regional chapter coordinator to notify ESW of your interest, and take the following two steps to formally register your chapter.

  1. Register as a Full (paid) or Associate (non-paid) Member to access the Member Resource Center, including the "Starting a Chapter" materials.
Both Full and Associate Members have access to the Guide to Starting an ESW Chapter, Charter Application, and Sample Chapter Constitution.
  2. Log in using your member account and complete an online Chapter Registration form in the "Starting a Chapter" section.
Only Full Members are eligible to register a chapter. Membership upgrade is available in the Member Resource Center.

After your Chapter Registration has been approved, you will have access to the resources of the Chapter Resource Center - including your chapter's member database, the national partner organization database, and guidance materials on chapter structure and governance, event planning, and project development.
